SELECTION OF PRODUCT RANGE

CROWN PATTERN WIRE ROPE SLINGS (wide lift slings)

THESE SLINGS CAN BE USED WHERE THE LOADS ARE ABRASIVE, HOT OR MAY CUT OTHER TYPES OF SLINGS

AND ARE USED IN SITUATIONS WHERE WEBBING SLINGS CANNOT BE USED

THEY ARE EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE WITH LARGE SURFACE TO LOAD CONTACT

THESE CAN BE MADE IN VARIOUS WIDTHS AND LENGTHS WITH HARD OR SOFT WIRE SERVED EYES

CROWN PATTERN SLINGS CAN BE MADE WITH A VARYING NUMBERS OF WIRES AND DIAMETERS BETWEEN 6 AND 16 WIRES TO PRODUCE DIFFERENT WIDTHS TO SUIT YOUR REQUIREMENTS

Ideal for high or low temperature loads up to 400șC

with wire served soft eyes each end.

A reduction in strength occurs which results in a reduction in the SWL. »»»

Sizes made are from 4mm to 10mm dia 7x19 wsc galvanized wire rope.

Great for abrasive loads.

They can be used in choker, basket or vertical lifts.

These slings are an excellent alternative in applications,

where sharp loads will cut webbing.

They grip the load firmly and do not stretch under load.

Temperature    reduction SWL

-40to100șC        No reduction  100to200șC       10% reduction

200to300șC       25% reduction

300to400șC       35% reduction

TEST INFORMATION

Mainco have thoroughly tested this type of sling to destruction using a 100t tensile load test.

1.7t FLAT BRAIDED SLINGS

THESE SLINGS ARE 30MM WIDE AND EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE

GIVING A FLATTER SURFACE TO THE LOAD WHICH REDUCES DAMAGE COMPARED WITH SINGLE LEG SLINGS

PROOF LOAD TEST

DIAMOND PATTERN SLINGS WITH POLYPROPYLENE INSERTS

THESE SLINGS ARE VERY FLEXIBLE AND GENTLE ON THE LOAD.

THE POLYPROPYLENE INSERT CUSHIONS BETWEEN THE LOAD AND THE WIRE ROPE IN THE SLING

TO MINIMISE DAMAGE TO THE LOAD BEARING SURFACE.

WE CURRENTLY MANUFACTURE THESE SLINGS IN 5mm,6mm AND 7mm DIA.

1770 TENSILE GRADE 7X19 GALV SOFT EYES TAPERED FERRULES

TEST INFORMATION

Mainco have thoroughly tested this type of sling to destruction using a 100t tensile load test bed, with surprising results of the actual break, supplying us with a calculated  SWL (WLL) for these slings. These tests also included other information including the amount of stretch in the sling.

NOTE proof load testing only is a non-destructive overload test to generally confirm an items suitability for its intended duty. It is NOT a method of determining the SWL (WLL) which can only be done by calculation and tensile tests to destruction.

TENSILE TEST IN PROGRESS

AFTER TESTING

These tests now give us the correct SWL (WLL) for these slings in either straight choke or basket hitch.

RECOMMENDED OPERATING PRACTICES

PROPER USE AND CARE OF FLAT BRAIDED SLINGS

  1. KNOW THE WEIGHT OF THE LOAD

  2.  NEVER LOAD A SLING IN EXCESS OF IT'S RATED CAPACITY

  3. USE A SLING WITH CHARACTERISTICS MEANT FOR THE TYPE OF LOAD, HITCH AND ENVIRONMENT WITH WHICH YOU ARE WORKING

  4. THESE SLINGS CAN BE USED IN STRAIGHT, CHOKE OR BASKET LIFT

  5. PROTECT THE SLING FROM BEING CUT BY SHARP CORNERS, EDGES AND ABRASIVE SURFACES BY USING WEAR PADS OR SLEEVES.

  6. BE SURE THE SLING IS SECURELY AND CORRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE LOAD

  7. DO NOT SHOCK LOAD ( JERK ) WHEN LIFTING

  8. DO NOT STAND NEAR OR UNDER SUSPENDED LOAD, AND KEEP IT CLEAR OF OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS

  9. INSPECT SLINGS WEEKLY OR MORE FREQUENTLY DEPENDING ON USE

  10. TAKE DAMAGED SLINGS OUT OF SERVICE IMMEDIATELY

  11. THESE SLINGS HAVE FLEXIBILITY TO CONFORM TO IRREGULAR SHAPES

  12. THESE SLINGS ARE UNAFFECTED BY OIL AND GREASE

  13.  SLINGS WITH POLYPROPYLENE INSERTS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR USE AT VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES

  14. THE POLYPROPYLENE INSERTS SERVE ONLY AS A CUSHION AND DO NOT ADD TO THE SWL OF THE SLING

  15. FAILURE TO COMPLY TO THESE RECOMMENDATIONS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR POSSIBLE INJURY
